We present a case with involvement of both nostrils by the Rosai-Dorfman's disease. Physical examination revealed tumorous lesions totally occupying the right nostril and partially the left one.
The presence of proliferation of histiocytes was proved by the histological test, several of them full of non-disintegrated lymphoid nuclei, ie, emperipolesis, the basic histological characteristic in Rosai-Dorfman's disease. The patient underwent surgical treatment with a combined approach by means of lateral rhinotomy and endoscopic nasal resection using a microdebrider.
Presentamos un caso con afectación de ambas fosas nasales con la enfermedad de Rosai-Dorfman. En el examen físico se constató lesiones tumorales que ocupaban totalmente la fosa derecha y parcialmente la izquierda.
En el estudio histológico se comprobó la proliferación de los histiocitos, varios de ellos cargados de núcleos linfoides sin desintegrarse, lo que contituye la emperipolesis, característica histológica básica en la enfermedad de Rosai-Dorfman. La paciente fue tratada quirúrgicamente, se le realizó un abordaje combinado mediante rinotomía lateral y resección endoscópica nasal con microdesbridador.
