He was under treatment with topical corticosteroids when, due to subacute visual loss, he came to our emergency department. Biomicroscopy revealed multiple opacities scattered throughout the anterior cornea (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a>A) with a snowflake pattern (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a>B) without corneal defects or inflammation of the anterior segment. The conjunctival microbiologic smear was negative for fungi or bacteria, but the patient improved with topical and oral quinolones.
