Polycystic liver disease in the adult is an infrequent and usually asymptomatic entity.

Gradual cystic growth, which occurs with age, may cause potentially severe complications.

We present the case of a male patient with polycystic liver disease and abdominal sepsis due to superinfection of the polycystic disease and formation of multiple liver abscesses.
