Adenoma velloso
Diarrea mucosa

Villous colorectal adenomas are common tumors that normally provoke little symptomatology. Because of their rarity, we present two cases in which the largeness of the tumor provoked serious hydroelectrolytic alterations, giving rise to what is known as McKittrick-Wheelock syndrome. We briefly review the possible etiopathogenic mechanisms and highlight the use of indomethacin treatment prior to surgery.

Key words:
McKittrick-Wheelock syndrome
Villous adenoma
Mucosal diarrhea
