The relationship between vulvar dystrophy and the development of carcinoma of the vulva is unknown, although it doesn’t seem to be etiological. Since the coexistence of these lesions is frequent, clinicians must rule out a possibly malignant lesion in any patient with a chronic vulvar process and the patient should be closely followed while the lesion exists.
