Abstract

Endometriosis involving the urinary tract occurs in approximately 1-2% of cases, with the urinary bladder being most frequently affected, in almost 90% of cases. The most common symptoms are suprapubic pain, and irritative voiding symptoms (urgency, frequency, dysuria) during menstruation. During examination the presence of a painful ante-uterine nodule is highly suggestive of bladder endometriosis. Surgery is the treatment of choice for this pathology.

Although bladder endometriosis is relatively rare, recently there are increasing numbers of cases published in the literature. We present our experience in the surgical treatment of a case of bladder endometriosis in a patient with no uterine surgical antecedents.
