Resumen

Se entiende como insuficiencia placentaria la incapacidad de este órgano para ejercer correctamente sus funciones de nutrición y protección del feto, produciéndose, como consecuencia, una alteración en la homeostasis fetal1,5.

Summary

Placental insufficiency is understood to be the incapacity of this organ to correctly perform its functions of foetal nutrition and protection. Consequently, an alteration in foetal homeostasis is produced.
