Summary

We aim to know the seroprevalence of antibodies to human parvovirus B19 (PVB19) in a group of 353 donors in Madrid.

Antibodies of the inmunoglobulin G (IgG) were investigated using a commercial ELISA system.

Were detected 162 positive cases, including 89 females (48,9%) and 73 males (42,7%). The prevalence of antibodies against PVB19 increased with age in both groups.
