Abstract

Given the high incidence ofthe mechanical cervicalgias between the users in our services, we have considered that a correct exploration is going to guarantee the quality ofthe physical therapy’s attention, assuring the later adjustment of the processing.

For that reason, we are going to offer a description based on the procedures of physical therapy’s evaluation more commonly accepted and used.

We have found the necessity to study the characteristics and intensiy of the pain, to make and exhaustive palpation of the cervical region including the location of the painful areas and the exploration of trigger points in the main muscles that can be in relation to the existence of a cervicalgia of mechanical origin.

The study of articular mobility and the identification of possible dysfunctions will be a key element of our assessment. Also we presented the provocation tests that are going to make possible the inclusion or exclusion of the patients in the protocol of the cervicalgias of mechanical origin
