Los quistes branquiales son consecuencia del anormal desarrollo embrionario del aparato faríngeo o branquial. Se manifiestan como una masa latero-cervical y el tratamiento debe ser quirúrgico, su extirpación completa. Para el diagnóstico y tratamiento adecuado es necesario un buen conocimiento de la anatomía regional así como del desarrollo embrionario del cuello. Presentamos dos casos en los que se siguieron los pasos adecuados para un correcto diagnóstico y tratamiento.
Branchial cysts are abnormalities in the development of the pharyingeal or branchial apparatus. Clinical presentation usually is a unilateral, soft tissue cervical mass and treatment must be the total excision of the cyst. For a correct diagnosis and treatment is necessary to know the development of branchial apparatus during embryogenesis of the neck. We describe two cases of branchial cysts, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
