Se ha comparado la presión de pulso (PP) y la microalbuminuria en 3 grupos de enfermos: con presión arterial (PA) normal (NT, PA <.130/80 mmHg), con PA límite (LIM, PA < .135/85) e hipertensos (HTA, PA >=135/85 mmHg) para intentar definir el riesgo real del grupo límite.</p><p id="spar0010" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">Se incluyeron en el estudio 44 pacientes: 15 en el grupo NT (edad media: 36,9.±.11,5 años; 10 hombres y 5 mujeres), 12 en el grupo LIM (edad media: 40,8.±.14,6 años; 10 hombres y 2 mujeres) y 17 en el grupo HTA (edad: 44,7.±.19,5 años; 11 hombres y 6 mujeres). Las diferencias en edad y sexo entre ambos grupos no fueron significativas.</p><p id="spar0015" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">La PP promedio en 24 horas estaba elevada en el grupo de hipertensión arterial (HTA) (53,1.±.10,4 mmHg) respecto al grupo NT (43,6.±.5,2 mmHg; p.<.0,01) y al grupo LIM (45,3.±.6,0; p. < .0,05). No había diferencia entre los grupos NT y LIM respecto a la PP.
