Se trata de una mujer de 62 años con antecedentes de obesidad, diabetes mellitus tipo 2, dislipidemia y ansiedad. Consulta por episodios de mareos y cifras elevadas de presión arterial. Se inició tratamiento de la hipertensión y la paciente tuvo un síncope; en consultas sucesivas las cifras de presión arterial continuaron elevadas y se aumentó la dosis de hipotensores. Finalmente se realizó la maniobra de Osler, que fue positiva y fue diagnosticada de pseudohipertensión.
There is discussed a 62-year-old woman with a history of obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, dyslipemia and anxiety. She seeks clinical attention for episodes of dizziness and high blood pressure. Hypertensive treatment was begun and the patient experienced syncope. In successive consultations, BP values continue to be high and hypotensive drug doses were increased. Finally, Osler’s maneuver resulted positive and the patient was diagnosed with pseudohypertension.
