Resumen

El síndrome del túnel carpiano, representa la neuropatía por atrapamiento más frecuente. Dentro de sus múltiples causas destacan las alteraciones del contenido del túnel por tumores. El hamartoma fibrolipomatoso es un raro tumor de naturaleza benigna que presenta una especial predilección por el nervio mediano. La edad de presentación más frecuente es la tercera década de la vida y se asocia a macrodactilia. El diagnóstico se realiza por resonancia magnética. Se presenta un caso de hamartoma fibrolipomatoso en un varón de 25 años, con afectación del nervio mediano, con escasa respuesta al tratamiento quirúrgico, que experimentó mejoría tras tratamiento rehabilitador en el postoperatorio.

Summary

The carpal tunnel syndrome represents the most frequent neuropathy by entrapment. Within its multiple causes, the alterations of the tunnel content due to tumors stand out. Fibrolipomatous hamartoma is a rare benign tumor that presents a special predilection of the median nerve. The most frequent age of presentation is from 30–40 years and it is associated with macrodactily. The diagnosis is performed by Magnetic Resonance. We present a case of fibrolipomatous hamartoma in a 25 year old male, with involvement of the median nerve, with limited response to surgical treatment, who experienced improvement after rehabilitation treatment in the post-operative period.
