Revista Española de Cirugía Oral y Maxilofacial (Spanish Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery) is the official Journal of the Spanish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (SECOM), which unites more than 800 professionals. The Journal publishes only original articles focused on research, clinical practice, systematic reviews and consensus documents. In addition, the Journal has a section for residents to promote their interaction with other members of the Society. With the contributions of medical professionals from Spain, Portugal and Latin America, the Journal has become an important international platform for scientific exchange.The Journal is an open-access publication. The Editorial Committee and reviewers function independently from SECOM, and each manuscript is evaluated in a peer-review process. The Journal is published in digital format in both English and Spanish, with a total of 6 issues annually, and it is included in the ScienceDirect and SciELO online databases.
