Giant Trichilemmal Cysts of the Scalp

A 74-year-old male patient presented with 2 tumors of the scalp of long-term duration. On physical examination, 2 tumors were observed, measuring 6 cm×7 cm and 11 cm×10 cm with 6-cm and 8-cm pedicles. During the surgical intervention, 2 lateral skin flaps were preserved to provide closure without tension in the areas of the resected pedicles (6 and 8 cm, respectively). The 2 lesions were resected under local anesthesia without incident. The pathological report catalogued the lesions as trichilemmal (pilar) cysts (Figs. 1–4).
