Summary
Objective

To Know the prevalence of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) in patients suffering of chronic limb ischaemia and to check if chronic limb ischaemia is a risk factor for the development of AAA

Patients And Method

Two groups have been studied: First of them (study group) have been make up with five hundred 55 years old me with chronic ischaemia of lower limbs, and the second (control group) have been constituted with 200 men of the sane age and prostatic pathology but without ischaemic clinic. An abdominal and pelvic echographic study was performed in patients of both groups to value the aortic diameter

Results

There were no statistical difference between both groups in terms of demographic characteristics nor cardiovascular risk factors. However, the AAA prevalence was of 14,2% in the study group while in control group was of 4,7%. This difference was statistically significative

Conclusions

In our environment, prevalence of AAA between men older than 55 years is significatively major than in general population. For this, chronic ischaemia of lower limbs can be considered a risk factor in the development of AAA

Laburpena
Helburuak

Gorputz-adarretakoiskemia kronikodun pazienteengan dagoen giltzurrunmailaren peko aorta-aunerisma abdominalen (AAA) prebalentzia ezagutzea eta iskemia kronikoa AAAk garatzeko arrisku-faktorea den aztertzea

Pazienteak Eta Metodoak

Bi talde aztertudira: lehenengoa (azterketa-taldea) gorputzadarretako iskemia kronika duten 55 urteko 500 gizonezkok osatzen dute, eta bigarren (kontrol-taldea) klinika iskemikorik ez baina prostatako patologia duten adin bereko 200 pazientek. Bi taldeetako pazienteei ekografia bidezko azterketa abdominopelbikoaegin zitzaien aortaren diametroa zehazteko

Emaitzak

Bi taldeen artean ez zen alde esanguratsurik aurkitu ezaugarri demografikoei nahiz arrisku-faktore kardiobaskularrei dagokienez. Halere, AAAen prebalentzia %14,2koa izan zen azterketa-taldean eta %4,7koa kontrol-taldean; aldea, kasu honetan, estadistikoki esanguratsua da

Ondorioak

AAAen prebalentzia, gure ingurunean, gorputz-adarretako iskemia kronikoa duten 55 urte baino gehiagoko paziente gizonezkoengan nabarmen hadiagoada populazio orokorrean baino, eta, ondorioz, hura arrisku-taldea da aipatutako patologiari dagokionez
