        "resumen" => "<span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Fundamentos</span><p id="spar0005" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">El tabaquismo y la alimentaci&#243;n suponen los dos principales factores de riesgode la enfermedad cardiovascular y el c&#225;ncer en los pa&#237;ses desarrollados&#46; El objetivo de este trabajoconsisti&#243; en analizar el consumo de alimentos y nutrientes y la obesidad en relaci&#243;n con elconsumo de tabaco en la poblaci&#243;n catalana&#46;</p> <span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Sujetos y m&#233;todo</span><p id="spar0010" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">Se estudi&#243; una muestra representativa de la poblaci&#243;n catalana de 1&#46;774 individuosde 18 a 64 a&#241;os de ambos sexos&#46; Se evalu&#243; el estado nutricional mediante indicadoresantropom&#233;tricos&#44; as&#237; como el consumo de alimentos con dos recordatorios de 24 h&#46; Tambi&#233;nse utilizaron un cuestionario sobre consumo de tabaco y un cuestionario de frecuenciasemicuantitativo para evaluar el consumo de alcohol&#46;</p> <span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Resultados</span><p id="spar0015" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">Los varones no fumadores consum&#237;an m&#225;s derivados l&#225;cteos que los fumadores&#44; ym&#225;s frutas y frutos secos que los fumadores y ex fumadores&#46; Las mujeres no fumadoras consum&#237;anm&#225;s aves&#44; frutas y menos dulces que las fumadoras y ex fumadoras&#46; En ambos sexos&#44; losfumadores inger&#237;an m&#225;s alcohol&#46; Respecto a los nutrientes&#44; los fumadores consum&#237;an menos fibraque los no fumadores y el consumo de la energ&#237;a procedente de l&#237;pidos y &#225;cidos grasos saturadosy monoinsaturados fue mayor&#46;</p> <span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Conclusiones</span><p id="spar0020" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">La dieta de los fumadores tiene un perfil alimentario y nutricional menos saludable&#44;lo que podr&#237;a potenciar el riesgo del tabaco relacionado con la aparici&#243;n de ciertos c&#225;nceresy enfermedad cardiovascular&#46;</p>"

        "resumen" => "<span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Background</span><p id="spar0025" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">It is well known that smoking and some nutritional habits are two of the most importantrisk factors for the development of certain cancers and cardiovascular diseases&#46; Thepurpose of this study is to assess the food and nutrient consumption in relation to smoking inthe Catalan population&#44; Spain&#46;</p> <span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Subjects and method</span><p id="spar0030" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">A representative sample of the Catalan population of 1774 people aged18 to 64 years from both sexes&#46; Nutritional status was evaluated using selected anthropometricalindexes&#44; and food consumption with two 24-hour recall&#46; Questionnaires about smoking consumptionand a semiquantitative frequency questionnaire about alcohol consumption were alsoadministered&#46;</p> <span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Results</span><p id="spar0035" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">Male non smokers consumed more dairy products than smokers&#44; and more fruits andnuts than smokers and ex-smokers&#46; Female non-smokers consumed more chicken&#44; fruits andless sweets than smokers and ex-smokers&#46; In both genders&#44; smokers consumed more alcohol&#46;With respect to nutrients&#44; smokers consumed less fiber than non smokers and more energyfrom lipids and saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids&#46;</p> <span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Conclusions</span><p id="spar0040" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">The diet of smokers is less healthy than that of non smokers and ex-smokers&#44;which indicates a higher risk for the incidence of certain cancers and cardiovascular diseases&#46;</p>"
