Intense <span class="elsevierStyleSup">64</span>Cu-PSMA uptake (SUV<span class="elsevierStyleInf">max</span> 3.8) was detected in the early PET/CT scan (1<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>h after the tracer administration) in the neck (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a> a, a′), corresponding to a slightly hyperdense area in the foramen magnum in co-registered CT and PET/CT views (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a> b, b′). A late PET/CT, 4<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>h after the injection, confirmed unchanged uptake (SUV<span class="elsevierStyleInf">max</span> 3.9) in the lesion (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a> c, c′). Considering this finding equivocal, a following Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) diagnosed a high signal intensity lesion on T2-weighted view (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a> d) with mild contrast enhancement on T1-weighted (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a> e) view. The diagnosis was meningioma.</p><elsevierMultimedia ident="fig0005"></elsevierMultimedia><p id="par0010" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The radiolabeled compounds of PSMA have been widely investigated in the management of PC patients, due to the specific link with PC: in fact, several studies emphasize the usefulness of radiolabeled PSMA PET/CT and PET/MRI in PC imaging.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0020"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">1</span></a> Conversely, recent reports suggest the possibility of tracer uptake in some malignant conditions other than PC.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0025"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">2</span></a></p><p id="par0015" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Therefore, similarly to other radiopharmaceuticals,<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0030"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">3</span></a> caution is needed when observing abnormal sites of radiolabeled PSMA uptake, not related to PC. The molecular pathway on the basis of PSMA uptake in meningiomas could be due to angiogenesis, increased vascular permeability or faster cellular metabolism.
