La propuesta presentada en este trabajo de investigación consiste en una arquitectura de referencia para la gestión integrada de producción, que permite el acceso a la información requerida para obtener una visión completa del estado del proceso productivo y habilita la automatización inteligente de los procesos de negocio, a partir de la definición de un mecanismo de acceso estandarizado a las fuentes de información de proceso, del desarrollo de un marco ontólogico de producción y del uso de técnicas de inteligencia artificial distribuida, específicamente sistemas multi-agentes e instituciones electrónicas.
