The growing popularity of minimally invasive surgery has led to the development of extended approaches for the treatment of skull base lesions. One of the major challenges in achieving complete tumoral resection while guaranteeing maximum patient safety, especially in intradural lesions, is to obtain effective hemostasis. In the last 10 years the authors have progressively developed a systematic approach to control this difficulty. This has required the development of new instruments as well as variations to the standard technique. The present article describes the technique and development of endoneurosurgical hemostasis.
