    "textoCompleto" => "<span class="elsevierStyleSections"><p id="para0001" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The first issue of <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">Annals of Hepatology</span> was published in January 2002&#44; with the enthusiastic participation of close friends distinguished in the academic sector &#40;unfortunately some of them passed away&#41;&#46; Our initiative was applauded by the Latin American community of hepatologists in the editorial field&#46; Numerous collaborators have joined the Annals of Hepatology team since then&#44; transforming our journal into a successful international reference in hepatology&#46;</p><p id="para0002" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The founder and first editor-in-chief&#44; Professor Nahum M&#233;ndez-S&#225;nchez&#44; acting with the full support of <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">Fundaci&#243;n Cl&#237;nica M&#233;dica</span> Sur and invaluable cooperation with the Mexican Association of Hepatology&#44; the Latin American Association for the Study of the Liver&#44; and the Canadian Association for the Study of the Liver&#46; Worked diligently and helped guide the journal to a period of steady growth&#46;</p><p id="para0003" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Subsequently&#44; under the wise guidance of Professor Arturo Panduro&#44; second Editor-in-Chief&#44; the journal formed additional collaborative relationships with a number of new partners including the Czech Society of Hepatology&#46; The impact of the journal has grown consistently in recent years&#59; however&#44; equally important has been the creation of a great team&#44; a highly professional and ethical group of international editors and reviewers&#46;</p><p id="para0004" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">As the new editor-in-chief of <span class="elsevierStyleItalic">Annals of Hepatology</span>&#44; I am fully committed to this project&#44; to the ideals and science guiding it&#44; but especially&#44; to the people who make it possible&#46; I wish to thank all those who have collaborated with us&#44; and I encourage everyone involved in this endeavor to increase their efforts towards the creation of innovative solutions for researchers and clinicians around the world&#46;</p></span>"
