The Brazilian Journal of Microbiology (BJM) is the official publication of the Sociedade Brasileira de Microbiologia (Brazilian Society for Microbiology). It publishes original research papers and reviews, covering all aspects of Microbiology. The journal has a severe policy of manuscript evaluation, and each manuscript is evaluated carefully by at least two selected referees.

The Impact Factor measures the average number of citations received in a particular year by papers published in the journal during the two preceding years.
