Neuropatía femoral secundaria a hematoma espontáneo del músculo psoas-ilíaco

Presentamos un caso de hematoma espontáneo del músculo psoas-ilíaco, en un paciente en programa de hemodiálisis. Destacamos el cuadro clínico y la principal complicación neurológica que desarrollan los afectados por este tipo de hematomas, que es la neuropatía femoral. Abordamos su terapéutica médica y quirúrgica, haciendo hincapié en que el tratamiento quirúrgico urgente es el de elección cuando existe síndrome compartimental con afección isquémica del nervio crural.

We present a case of spontaneous hematoma involving the iliopsoas muscle in a patient undergoing hemodialysis. We describe the clinical picture and the role of femoral nerve neuropathy, the major neurological complication associated with hematomas of this type. We discuss the medical and surgical treatment, stressing emergency surgery as the treatment of choice in patients presenting compartment syndrome involving femoral nerve ischemia.
