Abstract
Hamartomas of the breast are benign, low incidence tumors that have received little attention until fairly recently.
Macroscopically they are well delineated, firm tumors that are constituted by a variable mixture of mature epithelial elements, fibrous tissue and fat.
A good quality mammogram and specific histopathological findings are the base for an accurate diagnosis. On occasions they can be associated with a malignant mammary process, in which case it is recommended a complementary oncological treatment after surgical removal.
