This study aimed to explore the physical activity level of adolescence and its correlation with nutritional and socioeconomic status.
MethodA single-center cross-sectional study was conducted at a senior high school. A total of 131 participants filled questionnaires about physical activity level and socioeconomic status and had their nutritional status measured. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Correlation Analysis.
ResultAlmost half of the participants reported low physical activity levels, and most of them were in moderate to high economic status. Besides, more than two-thirds of them were either in obesity, overweight, or underweight. However, no correlation was found between physical activity level and nutritional status. A similar result was also found between the physical activity level and socioeconomic status.
ConclusionA high proportion of participants reported low physical activity levels, but it was not associated either with nutritional status or socioeconomic status.
