The problem of nutritional anemia and Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) does not happen suddenly, so it can be prevented through education as early as possible to prospective mothers/Bride<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0040"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">1</span></a> Nutritional anemia problem and CED does not happen suddenly, so that in fact can be prevented, then the provision of information as early as possible to the prospective mother (prospective bride) is one of the efforts to overcome the problem. During this approach is the provision of direct education to the pregnant women, while ANC K1 by seeing the magnitude has exceeded the target but K1 is not K1 cohort, to encourage K1 to be done on time then education on The importance of ANC visit is done as early as possible, it is needed to provide information long before pregnancy occurs, there are cultural factors that can be used as entry point to give information before pregnancy is traditional ceremony Mappacci, a traditional Bugieness wedding.</p><p id="par0010" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">At the time of adulthood (pre-marital) there is a culture Mappaci, where Mappacci is a series of wedding activities. Mapacci equipment and equipment can be divided into three groups, namely: (1) Benno and Pesse Pelleng, (2) pillows, sarongs, banana leaves and jackfruit leaves, (3) Appaccingeng. When the invitations have been present especially the invitation that has been specified as giver Pacci, then start Event Mappacci by the protocol. The Protocol (MC Mappacci) invites one by one the invitations that have been predetermined and interspersed with the explanation of meanings and symbols contained in the fixture Mappacci.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0045"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">2</span></a></p><p id="par0015" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The problem of nutritional anemia and CED in pregnant women is still a matter of public health, as shown that nutritional anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia amounted to 24.5% (WHO, >4.9% is a matter of public health nutrition), but not found data Iron-nutrient anemia of pregnant women by province, while the prevalence of the risk of CED in females aged 15–45 years in Barru district is quite high that is 16.1%, where this figure is higher than the average number of South Sulawesi (12.5%) and the national average (13.6%).<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0050"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">3</span></a></p><p id="par0020" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">This research aims to make educational innovations as well as designing and applying educational media (modules and counter sheets) nutritional anemia and CED for bride candidates at the procession of custom Mappacci.</p></span><span id="sec0010" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0040">Methods</span><span id="sec0015" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0045">Design</span><p id="par0025" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The research methodology uses qualitative methods with case study design.</p></span><span id="sec0020" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0050">Population and study setting</span><p id="par0030" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">This Study was conducted in Barru regency on March until November 2012. The informant is the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK), indigenous people, community leader, Cadres, adolescents, Master of Ceremony (MC) during Mappacci, and Bride. The Selection of Informant using purposive sampling.</p></span><span id="sec0025" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0055">Variables</span><p id="par0035" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The Variables including Bugieness culture “mappacci”, cultural based education about nutritional anemia and CED, development of education module as tools during education session and evaluation of bride's knowledge after education was given.</p></span><span id="sec0030" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0060">Data collection</span><p id="par0040" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The tools used in this study include modules, Counter lines, interview guidelines, observation sheets, and recording devices. The stages of research: (1) The development of the movers of the PKK, (2) enrichment of the module to community leader and the enrichment of the sheets to cadres, (3) media feasibility test to adolescents, (4) The intervention of module contents to MC Mappacci, and (5) evaluation of the target (Bride).</p></span><span id="sec0035" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0065">Data analysis</span><p id="par0045" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Analysis of data Using content analysis, with the stage of: (1) study all data results from interviews, discussions, observations and study documents, (2) reduce data and create a core summary, (3) compile data in the form of matrices, and (4) interpretation of data.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0055"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">4</span></a></p></span></span><span id="sec0040" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0070">Results</span><p id="par0050" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">This informants in this research were PKK, community leader, adolescents, Master of Ceremony (MC) during Mappacci, and bride has of implementation of the study are: (1) consists of 3 activities: building a joint commitment (build atmosphere), meeting Expert/Enrichment module draft to community leader and MC Mappacci and enrichment of a draft module to the young women. Here statements arising from the results of the training discussion of MC Mapacci:<span class="elsevierStyleDisplayedQuote" id="dsq0005"><p id="spar0025" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleItalic">“Selama saya menjadi MC Mappacci, saya belum pernah mendapat materi sedetail ini, biasanya saya hanya memandu acara saja, kemudian memanggil keluarga calon pengantin satu-persatu untuk memberikan pacci, dan saya sendiri belum terlalu memaknai simbol-simbol dari perlengkapan Mappacci itu sendiri, saya hanya berperan mengatur jalannya acara”.</span></p><p id="spar0030" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">(MC Mappacci)</p></span></p><p id="par0055" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The results of the observation of the simulation activities of MC Mappacci by the trainees: from 10 participants, all can mention the equipment and meanings and messages contained in the equipment well. Training to the House cadre using a sheet of back, to assess the understanding of cadres about nutrient Anemia and a CED in pregnant women. Phase 3 consists of 2 activities, namely: (1) The evaluation of MAPPACCI implementation to local communicators (MC Mappacci and community leader Pacci givers) at the time of Mappacci and (2) evaluation to the prospective bride on the promotion of local communicators (MC Mappacci and Community leader givers Pacci) at the time of Mappacci. <a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#tbl0005">Table 1</a> shows the equipment Mappacci used, the symbolic meaning and the content of health-related messages, on the four events Mappacci observed:</p><elsevierMultimedia ident="tbl0005"></elsevierMultimedia><span id="sec0045" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0075">Interview results</span><p id="par0060" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The following excerpt of the interview results with Bride Informant:<span class="elsevierStyleDisplayedQuote" id="dsq0010"><p id="spar0035" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleItalic">“…saya sempat dengar MC bilang ada itu disebut bantal, sama peralatan pacci lainnya, daun pisang, daun nangka sama sarung juga, (apakah ibu diberitahu makna peralatan Mappacci tersebut?), iya yang saya ingat itu nabilang MC katanya bantal alas kepala tempat berfungsinya otak supaya kita selalu sehat berfikir, daun pisang maknanya katanya supaya bila kita sudah menikah nanti jika mendapatkan keturunan yang sehat, daun nangka maknanya supaya kita selalu bersatu dengan pasangan, sedangkan sarung katanya jika kita hamil nanti kita selalu menjaga kehormatan, barusan pi kutau semua itu, karena biasa ja ikut acara Mappacci tidak ada yang sebut begitu baru pi kudengar…”</span></p><p id="spar0040" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">(ML, P, 28 th)</p></span><span class="elsevierStyleDisplayedQuote" id="dsq0015"><p id="spar0045" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">“<span class="elsevierStyleItalic">…yang saya ingat pada saat Mappacci, itu pemberi pacci memberikan pesan sama saya, supaya setelah menikah nanti agar saya melapor ke pelayanan kesehatan jika telah dua minggu terlambat dari jadwal haid.., mmm selain itu ada juga saya ingat dikasih tau dalam mempersiapkan kehamilan disuruh memperhatikan makanan yang bergizi dan seimbang, disuruh ka bertanya sama kader, supaya nanti katanya kehamilannya akan menjadi ibu dan bayi yang sehat dan selamat…</span>”</p><p id="spar0050" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">(AZ, P, 40 th)</p></span></p><p id="par0065" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The results of interviews with the Bride showed that local culture turned out to be an entry point in delivering health messages especially about nutritional anemi and less chronic energy (CED) for prospective expectant mothers. Not only the message with the symbol and meaning of the event equipment Mappacci that has become the culture and customs of the local people, the health message that is new to the informant because it is established by the activities Mappacci turned out Quite acceptable by the bride.</p></span></span><span id="sec0050" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0080">Discussion</span><p id="par0070" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The Mappaci event was still held in Barru district, in this study managed to get 4 brides that hosted the event Mappacci from the target 6 Bride. Bride organizing the event Mappacci derived from the varying economic status, from the high socio-economic (bride 1) and the intermediate socio-economic (Bride 2.3 and 4).</p><p id="par0075" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Referring to the book “The Dilemma of a doctor's view of a physician” written by Djatmiko (2012),<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0060"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">5</span></a> that the human being has 2 big fears in this life that is falling sick and bankrupt, hence the exposure to nutritional anemia problem and CED in the district Barru will impact not only the pain but also the threat of death for pregnant women and the woman, so the substitution of nutritional anemia problems and CED on the element symbol and meaning of equipment Mappacci will be accepted by the community and will cause empathy As the theory of House and Landis on social support.</p><p id="par0080" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The implementation of this research is expected to make a positive contribution (reward) to the community in Barru district. That is correct based on the concept of,<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0065"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">6</span></a> namely; Expertise (expert and experienced), in which MC trained in the background as MC Mapacci previously, the second requirement is trustworthiness (trusted and convincing), MC Mapacci and Community leader giver Pacci is a trusted person and has record Good track in its environment, in this study MC Mappacci who became the informant of the research are those who are also actively involved in social community activities, the third requirement is likability (liked and accepted). MC Mappacci and Community leader cites are local people and have been well-known by people in the region.</p><p id="par0085" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">In addition to the reward to local communicators, Bride also get support to prevent him from nutritional anemia and CED through the provision of information from local communicators equipped with KIE media in the form of a module about nutrition anemia and CED. In accordance with the findings of the<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0070"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">7</span></a> concerning the nutritional supplementation program on mothers, infants and children that breastfeeding mothers get additional information and support through counseling and information material with regard to breastfeeding from information communicator.</p></span><span id="sec0055" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0085">Conclusion</span><p id="par0090" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Cadres, Family Welfare Empowerment, MC, and community leader were able to explain the information based on the module and performed education using cultural based module. Thus increasing Understanding of Brides about the symptoms and risk nutritional anemia and CED pregnant woman, and the important of iron supplements. The informants were selected by purposive sampling. Steps of research: (1) Fostering Atmosphere for Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) Activist, (2) Explaining Module to community leader and flipchart to Cadres, (3) Testing media feasibility to adolescents, (4) Intervening contents of module to Master of Ceremony (MC) during Mappacci, and (5) Evaluating goals (bride). This study was analyzed by using content analysis.</p></span> <span id="abst0015" class="elsevierStyleSection elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle" id="sect0020">Results</span><p id="spar0015" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">2 modules were arranged with symbols and typical Bugienesse language for MC and community leader (Pacci giver), and 1 flipchart for PKK cadres. Teenagers understood the contents of the media and were interested in innovation of health education according to local wisdom. MC and community leader were able to explain nutritional anemia and CED information based on the module to bride.
