Special issue information:

Mental health issues across the lifespan have been a global challenge, which requires great attention in both prevention and treatment. However, multiple limitations that have been widely recognized, including self-reported questionnaires and traditional statistical approaches, could preclude health professionals to make a nuanced recommendation and policy decision for mental health promotion. To this end, more innovative data analyses, such as objective measures (e.i., wearable devices to capture ecological and real-time data) and artificial intelligence approaches (e.g., machine learning, deep learning) should be used for preventing mental health issues and maximizing the effects of personalized treatment.
