On examination, multiple erythematous-violaceous nodules of hard consistency were observed, with agminated (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a>b) thickened tortuous vessels on the surface (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a>a). With the suspicion of cutaneous metastases, an incisional biopsy was performed in one of the lesions, which confirmed the presumptive diagnosis (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a>c). A chest-abdomen-pelvis CT extension study revealed lymph node and retroperitoneal spread. The patient died three months later.</p><elsevierMultimedia ident="fig0005"></elsevierMultimedia><p id="par0010" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">The incidence of cutaneous metastases from urologic malignancies is 0.73–1.3%, with renal carcinoma being the most commonly involved, followed by bladder carcinoma. Its typical locations are the trunk and the craniofacial region, and it can manifest in a wide variety of forms, with the nodular form being the most common. They are usually metachronous lesions with respect to the primary tumour, with a mean survival of three months from diagnosis. The histological and immunohistochemical study is decisive for the diagnosis.
