She showed no systemic symptomatology, except for occasional headaches. Physical examination showed multiple pedunculated tumors, soft consistency, 1–3<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>cm major axis, along with about 10 café au lait spots over 2<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>cm diameter in her trunk (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a>) She also showed 0.2–0.3<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>cm brown macules in her axillary folds (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0010">Fig. 2</a>) which could be noticed by examination under Wood's lamp (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0010">Fig. 2</a>b). Eye examination and brain MRI were normal. The largest tumors were removed, finding neurofibromas in histopathology. She was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis type 1, and during follow-up, tumors that caused more discomfort were removed. Neurofibromatosis type 1 is an autosomal dominant condition with an incidence of 1/4000 people and is characterized by the presence of neurofibromas, café au lait spots and freckles.
