The patient reported having this hyperpigmentation from birth and has not changed since puberty. The incisional biopsy and histopathological examination with Melan-A and HMB-45 staining confirmed the presence of melanocytes and the diagnosis of Nevus of Ota was made. This condition, also known as oculodermal melanocytosis, is a pigmentary dermatosis which affects the skin innervated by the ophthalmic and maxillary branches of the trigeminal nerve. It consists of a hamartoma with increased melanocytic concentration. It onsets on early infancy and puberty and laser surgery is considered the first-line treatment option with high rates of success. Nevus of Ota has been related with an increased risk of melanoma and associated with glaucoma.
