After 3 weeks he reported profuse hair fall in his right occipital region. A diffuse balding plate with traction alopecia was observed without changes in the underlying scalp (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0010">Fig. 2</a>). Repopulation was spontaneous, which confirmed the suspected diagnosis of transitory rectangular alopecia.</p><elsevierMultimedia ident="fig0005"></elsevierMultimedia><elsevierMultimedia ident="fig0010"></elsevierMultimedia><p id="par0010" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall">Transitory alopecia after an endovascular procedure is considered a form of radiation dermatitis due to the special sensitivity of hair follicles in anagen phase to radiation.
