On physical examination, multiple papules, 1–2<span class="elsevierStyleHsp" style=""></span>mm in diameter, showing a normal skin coloration were observed, with distribution limited to the tattooed area on the back of the left hand (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a>). Cutaneous or systemic infectious complications secondary to tattoos are rare, although its true incidence is not known, being probably underdiagnosed.
