Edited by Xavier Nogues Solan - Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM), Barcelona, Spain
Osteoporosis is a chronic disease affecting a large part of the global population. Fragility fractures are the most severe consequence that results in a loss of quality of life and even an increase in mortality for those who suffer a fracture. From the physiopathological point of view, it is clustered among the alterations of bone metabolism that include very interesting complex systemic processes, which are related to other diseases.
Despite the current multidisciplinary approach to the disease, few is known about some of its aspects. We will try to present some of those poorly understood aspects in this Special Issue.
