Original Articles are research papers that contribute new results concerning the Journal’s areas of interest. Manuscripts should be divided into the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion. The recommended length of the text is 3,500 words (excluding the abstract, tables, figures and references). The text should include a maximum of 6 tables and/or figures (charts, graphs or illustrations). Authors are also advised to limit the number of references, if possible, to a maximum of 40 references. Original articles must be accompanied by an abstract of maximum 250 words that includes the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusions.
Reviews. Review articles are assessed by the Journal’s editors, but spontaneous contributions are welcome. This articles are updates of a relevant current topic. An exhaustive analysis of the literature should be established, with analysis of the sources of information, a critical discussion of the results of this analysis and conclusions that suppose a contribution to the literature. The recommended length of the text is 3,500 words (excluding the abstract, tables, figures and references). The text should include a maximum of 6 tables and/or figures (charts, graphs or illustrations). Letters to the Editor. Contributions with the description of clinical cases of exceptional observation that suppose an important or peculiar contribution to the knowledge of the process or with the discussion of works recently published in the journal and the contribution of opinions, observations or experiences that by their characteristics can be summarized in a short text The maximum length will be 750 words (exceptionally, the Drafting Committee can accept longer letters) and a maximum of 15 references are recommended. Up to 2 tables and / or fiuras will be admitted. The number of authors allowed is four, except in cases that the Committee considers may be more.
Other articles. The journal also includes consensus articles or clinical practice guides promoted by the SEN. In addition, NEUROLOGÍA publishes editorials at the invitation of the editor. The recommended length for Publishers will be 1500 words and a maximum of 30 bibliographical citations.
