Any article in this journal involving experiments with human or animal subjects will follow the guidelines in the “Human and animal rights” described in the “Ethics in publishing” section of this guide for authors. Authors should clearly indicate in the manuscript that such guidelines have been followed, as well as the statement that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects.
For any section of this journal: Original articles, Review articles, Scientific letters, Editorials and Letters to the Editor, the epigraphs: Ethical considerations, Patient consent, Funding and Conflict of interest should be added at the end of the articles and before the References epigraph.
Ethical considerations: If the work involves the use of human subjects, the author should ensure that the work described has been carried out in accordance with The Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association (Declaration of Helsinki) for experiments involving humans; Uniform Requirements for manuscripts submitted to Biomedical journals. Authors should include a statement that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects, and all the ethical procedures were performed. The privacy rights of human subjects must always be observed. The approval of the institutional review board (IRB) or the appropriate committee must be stated in this epigraph.
The authors must clearly indicate that the protocols of their institutions on the publication of patient data have been followed, that privacy has been respected, and will add the epigraph "Patient Consent" showing that they have the consent of the patients for their publication.
Funding: You are requested to identify who provided financial support for the conduct of the research and/or preparation of the article and to briefly describe the role of the sponsor(s), if any, in study design; in the collection, analysis and interpretation of data; in the writing of the report; and in the decision to submit the article for publication. If the funding source(s) had no such involvement then this should be stated.

Original Articles are research papers that contribute new results concerning the Journal’s areas of interest. Manuscripts should be divided into the following sections: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion. The recommended length of the text is 3,500 words (excluding the abstract, tables, figures and references). The text should include a maximum of 6 tables and/or figures (charts, graphs or illustrations). Authors are also advised to limit the number of references, if possible, to a maximum of 40 references. Original articles must be accompanied by an abstract of maximum 250 words that includes the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusions.
Reviews. Review articles are assessed by the Journal’s editors, but spontaneous contributions are welcome. This articles are updates of a relevant current topic. An exhaustive analysis of the literature should be established, with analysis of the sources of information, a critical discussion of the results of this analysis and conclusions that suppose a contribution to the literature. The recommended length of the text is 3,500 words (excluding the abstract, tables, figures and references). The text should include a maximum of 6 tables and/or figures (charts, graphs or illustrations). Reviews articles must be accompanied by an abstract of maximum 250 words that includes the following sections: Introduction, Development and Conclusions.
Scientific Letters. Contributions with the description of clinical cases of exceptional observation that suppose an important or peculiar contribution to the knowledge of the process or with the discussion of works recently published in the journal and the contribution of opinions, observations or experiences that by their characteristics can be summarized in a short text The maximum length will be 750 words (exceptionally, the Drafting Committee can accept longer letters) and a maximum of 15 references are recommended. Up to 2 tables and / or fiuras will be admitted. The number of authors allowed is four, except in cases that the Committee considers may be more.
Letters to the Editor. Letters related to articles published by the journal are the first choice for this section as well as letters providing opinions and unusual observations and experiences. The letters related with published articles must be received within three weeks after the publication of the article and will be sent to the author of the article, who will have 4 weeks in which to answer. Letters should contain fewer than 700 words, one table or figure, and must contain no more than 5 references. After publication of the reply, no further correspondence will be accepted. Up to 3 authors are accepted.
