Abstract

The ectopic decidual cell reaction is a benign entity consisting of dissemination of decidual implants outside the uterus. It is usually discovered as an incidental finding during surgery. When diffuse, a differential diagnosis with tumoral metastasis and deciduoid mesothelioma should be made, mainly through immunohistochemical tests. In general, the process is asymptomatic and usually shows spontaneous regression after delivery.
