Discusión: Visual search is a combination of scanning using peripheral vision and foveal vision. Efficiency of visual search depends on the number and type of distracters. Searching is more efficient when target is very different from distracters. Foveal visual searching requires attention and active scanning for a particular object among other distracters. The leading types of scanning errors include failing to look at the abnormality, recognition error which is looking at the abnormality but not identifying it, attention errors, decision making, which is identifying the abnormality but deciding to ignore it, and satisfaction of search.
