Tubular ectasia of the retetestes is a benign lesion usually associated with epididymal abnormalities. It should be included in the differential diagnosis of intraparenchymatous cystic lesions. Its characteristic echographic image usually allows for a diagnosis without having to perform any other type of exploration.

We present a review of 43 patients with tubular ectasia of the rete testes studied ultrasonically during a 7-year period. Intratesticular echographic findings are described, as well as associated extratesticu-lar pathology.

We compare our series with others previously published.
