The high mortality rates associated with ureteroarterial fistulas have been related to late diagnosis and treatment. Despite there being different well-known predisposing factors, as well as a very specific initial manifestation (hematuria), ureteroarterial fistulas are difficult to diagnosis. Conventional treatment of this fistula has consisted of open surgery and percutaneous vascular embolization. Nowadays, vascular endoprosthesis is viewed as a therapeutic alternative in the treatment of ureteroarterial fistulas.

Presented is the case of a patient with probable ureteroarterial fistula treated by means of ureteral embolization and covered endoprosthesis placement.
