La afectación por malaria ocurre en una minoría de los pacientes afectados por esta enfermedad, de la que se declaran unos 200 casos anuales en nuestro país, todos ellos importados. Los hallazgos descritos por tomografía computarizada (TC) y resonancia magnética (RM), son variados e inespecíficos, aunque útiles para ratificar y valorar el grado de la afectación; el edema cerebral es el más frecuente. Presentamos un nuevo caso con revisión de la bibliografía.
There are reported annually approximately 200 cases of this disease in Spain, all of which originate abroad. A small percentage of these will evolve into malaria. Any CT and MR findings which have been described are varied and unspecific. However, they are useful in confirming and evaluating degree of affectation, of which cerebral edema is the most common. Presented is a new case, along with revision of the bibliography.
