El quiste epidermoide de testículo es un tumor benigno poco frecuente que representa el 1% o 2% de las masas testiculares resecadas (1-4). Cuando presentan unas características ecográficas típicas de estas lesiones es posible sugerir el diagnóstico y puede permitir la enucleación como tratamiento evitando la orquiectomía (4).
Presentamos dos casos estudiados en nuestro Servicio, en los que se realizó el diagnóstico preoperatorio de quiste epidermoide testicular, confirmado posteriormente tras cirugía conservadora. Realizamos una revisión de la bibliografía existente en cuanto a los hallazgos por imagen y manejo de las lesiones.
The testicular epidermoid cyst is an uncommon benign tumor that represents 1% to 2% of resected testicular masses. The observation of the characteristic ultrasonographic features of these lesions facilitates their diagnosis and may make it possible to perform enucleation, obviating the need for orchidectomy.
We present two cases in which the testicular epidermoid cysts were diagnosed preoperatively and their presence confirmed after conservative surgery. We review the literature concerning imaging studies and the management of these lesions.
