Ultrasonido Reumatológico / Rheumatologic Ultrasound
Guest editors: Luis Javier Cajas Santana, Ingrid Möller, Esperanza Naredo
The present supplement of the Revista Colombiana de Reumatología covers a comprehensive review of the entire spectrum of ultrasound in the field of rheumatology, encompassing diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic aspects. It is an effort by the journal to update readers' knowledge in various areas of medical expertise, within our Latin American context, aiming to promote this area of clinical practice in our countries and training programs.
With this supplement, we provide a detailed review of ultrasound in the field of rheumatology, covering osteo-muscular aspects (joint, entheseal, muscular) as well as other applications such as glandular, pulmonary, cutaneous, and vascular. Additionally, we address current topics of interest such as artificial intelligence in ultrasound and ultrasound educational models worldwide. We aim to make an impact both nationally and internationally, primarily in Latin America, by providing information that promotes ultrasound as a fundamental method in daily medical practice in rheumatology and related fields such as orthopedists, physiatrists, radiologists, pulmonologists, or dermatologists in some cases. Finally, we also believe that ultrasound is a safe method in the diagnostic and monitoring process, but also fundamental when performing procedures, which is why it is included in this issue.
Original articles, review articles and case reports will be accepted.
