When it occurs, it can exhibit diverse cutaneous histomorphologies. In 70% of cases, cutaneous metastases are located on the scalp and the rest on the face or neck, due to the rich vascularization of the dermis in these locations,<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRefs" href="#bib0020">1,2</a> being extremely rare in the abdomen. The development of these metastases is associated with involvement of other distant tissues and poor prognosis.We report a 69-year-old patient with history of Hürthle cell thyroid cancer studied by high levels of thyroglobuline (Tg-off: 153mg/dl; Tg-on: 25.9mg/dl) with negative CT and 131-iodine wholebody scans (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a>A). 18F-FDG PET/CT revealed pulmonary metastasis as well as a nodular left subcutaneous lesion on the left flank with high metabolic rate (<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#fig0005">Fig. 1</a>B, arrows). A piece of 360g was resected, with pathology report of Hürthle cell follicular carcinoma which infiltrated adipose tissue, deep and superficial dermis without reaching epidermis. The Revista Española de Medicina Nuclear e Imagen Molecular (Spanish Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging), was founded in 1982, and is the official journal of the Spanish Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, which has more than 700 members. The Journal, which publishes 6 regular issues per year, has the promotion of research and continuing education in all fields of Nuclear Medicine as its main aim. For this, its principal sections are Originals, Clinical Notes, Images of Interest, and Special Collaboration articles. The works may be submitted in Spanish or English and are subjected to a peer review process. In 2009, it became the leading Spanish journal in the field of Medical Imaging on having an Impact Factor , awarded by the Journal Citation Reports.
