Hernia obturatriz diagnosticada preoperatoriamente como causa de obstrucción intestinal

La hernia obturatriz es una entidad infrecuente, que predomina en el sexo femenino, y cuya manifestación clínica más común es la obstrucción intestinal, seguida del signo de Howship-Romberg. El diagnóstico preoperatorio es difícil y tardío a pesar de apoyarnos en técnicas de imagen (TAC y ecografía), lo que retrasa el tratamiento quirúrgico y aumenta la morbi-mortalidad.
La técnica quirúrgica más usada es la colocación de un plug de material protésico en el orificio obturador.
Presentamos 2 casos de hernia obturatriz que fueron diagnosticadas preoperatoriamente y reparadas con la técnica anterior.

The obturator hernia is an uncommon entity that usually develops in women. Its most frequent clinical sign is intestinal obstruction, followed by the Howship-Romberg sign. The preoperative diagnosis is difficult and late, despite the use of imaging techniques (computed tomography and ultrasound). Thus, surgical treatment is often delayed, leading to elevated rates of morbidity and mortality.
The surgical technique most commonly used involves a plug made of prosthetic material inserted into the hernia orifice.
We present two cases of obturator hernia that were diagnosed preoperatively and repaired using the above technique.
