A patient with vascular surgery history who attended the hospital for an inguinal tumor which was at first confused with an abscess is reported. Following complementary studies prosthetic infection of aortobifemoral bypass was diagnosed. Prosthetic resection and atypical revascularization was programed. During hospital stay two different microorganisms were found in two independent localizations along the bypass.
Cure of the infection was achieved by resection of the bypass and revascularization was performed by two axilofemoral bypass in healthly territory with complete recovery of the patient and permeability of the prosthesis.
The different diagnostic techniques and therapeutic options currently under debate are presented justifying the method herein used for the cure of the patient and leaving different therapeutic possibilities open for each patient
