Síndrome de Sturge-Weber con hipertensión portal segmentaria

Se presenta el caso de una paciente con síndrome de Sturge-Weber de diagnóstico tardío, que precisó intervención quirúrgica por un cuadro de hipertensión portal segmentaria con hemorragia digestiva masiva por varices gástricas.
Se discuten los aspectos fundamentales del síndrome de Sturge-Weber, así como la problemática del diagnóstico y tratamiento de la hipertensión portal izquierda, tanto en su tratamiento en urgencias como en la indicación de cirugía electiva

The authors present a patient with late diagnosis of Sturge-Weber syndrome, who underwent surgery to treat segmental portal hypertension with massive gastrointestinal hemorrhage secondary to gastric varicose veins.
The basic features of Sturge-Weber syndrome are discussed as are the diagnostic and therapeutic difficulties of "left-sided" portal hypertension both in emergency and elective surgery.
