Resumen
Frecuentemente se utiliza la punción-aspiración con aguja fina para el diagnóstico de los tumores de hígado. Se presentó una paciente con cirrosis hepática, elevación de los niveles de alfafetoproteína de 1.668 ng/nl, al que se realizó punción con aguja fina. La paciente presentó recidiva en la pared abdominal con nueva elevación de alfafetoproteína hasta 150 ng/nl.Tras la resección de la recidiva se normalizarón los marcadores. La punción del hepatocarcinoma sólo debe realizarse cuando no es posible por otros métodos

Fine-needle aspiration puncture is frequently used to diagnose liver tumors. A female patient presented with liver cirrhosis and elevated alpha-fetoprotein levels of 1,668 ng/ml. Fine-needle puncture was performed. The patient presented recurrence in the abdominal wall and alpha-fetoprotein levels again increased to 150 ng/ml. After resection of the recurrence, marker levels returned to normal. Puncture should only be performed in hepatocarcinoma when other methods are not feasible
