Pancreatoduodenectomy (PD) is a complex procedure that requires meticulous tissue dissection and proficient suturing skills. Minimally invasive PD continues to be a challenge for surgeons.
As a result of the development of the robotic platform, high-volume centers describe large series of patients with good results in terms of pain management, blood transfusion, and hospital stay. However, prospective studies are still necessary to objectively assess the feasibility and safety of robotic PD compared to open procedures.
