Abstract
Objective

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy (academic, social, emotional, spiritual and economy) with premarital sexual behavior among high school adolescents in Makassar.

Method

This research is cross-sectional design. The total sample consist of 163 female students in class IX and aged 14–18 years at SMK 8 Makassar. The respondents selected by proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were analyzed by Spearman correlation test and multiple linear regression.

Result

There is a correlation between self-efficacy academic (p=0.000 and r=−0.349), social (p=0.015 and r=−0.203), emotional (p=0.001 and r=−0.268), spiritual (p=0.000 and r=−0.532) and economic (p=0.019 and r=−0.196) with premarital sexual behavior among high school adolescents in Makassar. The spiritual self-efficacy (p<0.05) had the most influence on premarital sexual behavior among high school adolescents in Makassar City.

Conclusion

Increasing self-efficacy can be used as a program in preventing the occurrence of premarital sexual behavior in adolescents.
