This study was to describe the experience and enthusiasm of nurses in emergency care in the border area and this research can be a reference in improving the system to improve the quality of emergency care and provide rewards for nurses and other health workers who have survived in the border area.
MethodsThis study was designed with a qualitative study with an interpretive phenomenological approach conducted with 10 participants from five primary health care in the border region of Sebatik Island who had handled emergency cases. Data collected through in-depth interviews with open questions. Data analysis was performed using thematic analysis.
ResultsThe description of the spirit of nurse service in managing emergencies in the border areas are working within limitations, communication and collaboration that is not optimal, efforts to call attention to the government, and ready to face challenges in referral.
ConclusionThe enthusiasm in dealing with the situation of conditions in the care of emergency nurses in the border area of North Kalimantan in the midst of many constraints can be seen from getting a number of conditions, namely care of emergencies that have not been optimal.
